About Rotary

The Million Dollar Shoot-Out, a proven, popular and wildly successful fund raising method, has never been done before in this area.  This unique four day event is hosted on site by Mancil Davis, “The King of Aces”. Davis is the current PGA world record holder with 52 holes-in-one!

2 for 1 qualifying shots

The Shootout works much like a closest-to-the-pin contest.  Some 18 tee mats will be set up at Far Oaks Golf Club during the four days of qualifying rounds. Golfers will pay $1 per ball to shoot at a special green from approximately 125 yards. Every golfer during qualifying rounds who lands within a six foot circle of the pin will advance to Sunday’s main Semi-Final round.

There will also be three Preliminary Semi-Final events taking place at the end of each day’s qualifying rounds:

June 3rd, Celebrity Semi Final
June 4th, Military Personnel Semi Final
June 5th, Emergency Services Personnel Semi Final
June 6th, the Main Semi Final & Million Dollar Shootout will take place!

During the Final Shootout on Sunday, anyone getting a hole-in-one at any of the 18 tee flags will win prizes valued up to $10,000.  And every golfer who shoots a hole-in-one into the special “19th Hole” will win the one Million Dollar prize!

“We would love to see someone make a hole-in-one during Sunday’s Finals,” says Mark Bearth, Hole-In-One Committee Chairman for the St. Clair County (East) Rotary Club. “Plus we are excited about the marketing benefits each of our sponsors will reap from this dramatic type of exposure.  And most importantly, our benefactor, Hospice of Southern Illinois, will gain much needed revenue.”
